BANANA BREAD : THE OFFICIAL COMFORT FOOD

I am sure you’ve noticed amidst it all on social media feeds that one baked good appears with particular frequency: banana bread.

So why is everyone making banana bread? No, seriously, though – why? There’s a lot we could be doing: painting, reading, watching Netflix, walking for an hour a day, working, looking after our kids, Zooming friends, staring at a wall and panicking silently inside… but baking banana bread just seems to be something we’ve universally agreed on.

Banana bread has always been popular, but something has changed — to understand the banana bread mania, I turned to some people that would understand, our Guvon Hotels’ professional chefs — and asked them the question: Why the sudden interest in baking banana bread? Each one gave me the exact same obvious response! Unlike most other fruit or vegetables, when bananas go limp and mushy, they can be repurposed…& voilà — enter, banana bread. Banana bread is also fairly straight forward and doesn’t seem too indulgent if you crave something sweet and it’s wholesome & nourishing.
