Guest Blog – What Baking Bread Means to Me

What Baking Bread Means to Me in this time of social distancing

In these uncertain times, many people (me included) have resort to the comforting and gratifying art of baking. Besides being a means to an end, the act of baking is a form of relaxation and my way of self expression. I gives me time to be creative with however little or how magnificent my baked goodies may be.

It’s not just about baking bread, it’s about the joy and the pleasure that come with it. Baking to me is what knitting, reading, running, exercising, or music is to someone else. My new found love for baking has now become my favourite pastime and  is also a form of therapy. I am really grateful that I am able to do this.

But baking has also become a way to pass the time and to feel productive, it is a form of entertainment since all other activities are canceled.

When baking bread, the act of putting one’s hands in dough and working it through, takes us back to simpler times. Hope you feel inspired after browsing these bread baking recipes:

So what does baking mean to you?
